Hi, Thanks for that detailed explanation :) It's just the sort of level I need at the moment !!! I think the area which was confusing me was the "AGENT" concept for the remote computers, as they are all running the full 24x7 scheduler and not just the remote agent. Also, in your explanation, when you say "Computer B" in the SyncRemoteDir command is it "computer" B or the remote computer profile "name" Computer B ? Thanks, Jim : Let's say you have computers A and B and you want to sync files between them : by running a job on computer A and downloading remote files from B to A. : 1. On computer A use Tools/Remote Agent Profiles menu to configure : "agent" connection. For an example see : http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/archive/agent.htm : Perhaps you call this profile "Computer B" : 2. On computer B make sure 24x7 Scheduler is set to run in the server mode. : Tools/Options menu; Network tab; Distributed server mode enabled. Make : sure you use the same Port number for all computers. I suggest using 1096 : unless this number is in use by some other application. : 3. Make sure the 24x7 service on computer B is set to run under user account : with sufficient network access privileges so that a successful network : connection can be made to the 24x7 server. : 4. On computer A in your job enter SyncRemoteDir "REMOTE", : "Computer B", .... rest of parameters controlling what and how : to sync files. : That's it.
