Post JAL vs VBS Reply with quote

Hi -

I have the latest and greatest 24x7, and have a
number of VBScript files to schedule. I notice that
the properties of a script revert to JAL whenever
the scheduler restarts - even though I've 'saved'
the script and the proerty change, and even run it
as a VBScript, next time I come back to it, it's
tagged JAL.

Any ideas?

Rick

Do you have any script or jobs that dynamically modify job database? If you do, disable them, otherwise try the following:

Create new job database file using File/New/Job Database command. Use the Job Database Manager (Tools menu) to copy folders and jobs from your old file to the new one). Check properties of copied jobs, if they are ok restart 24x7 and check again.

No dice - still broke.
First, I have no such scripts; I'm not nearly that
sophisticated. (Although, if this can't be fixed,
I may wrtie one that turns all my scripts from JAL
to VBS every time 24x7 restarts...;-)
I completed the process as outlined above without issue - even ran the
script once from there to confirm it's functionality. All went well.
I closed and repopened the database, and the script
had returned to type JAL.

Let me know - and thanks!

This is really weird. Where do you check for script type?
If you switch to the large icon view (View/Large Icons menu) do you see yellow or blue icons for VBScript jobs?

If not of that makes sense please email your job database file to support@softtreetech.com

okay, it's heading your way.
the icon color was my first tip off, but the properties also reflects
the 'gender' change.
