Post FTPPutFile error Reply with quote

Hi,
I am trying to upload a file via FTP but I get the error message:
Upload failed for '"'. Error code 123

the jal i am using is:

FTPPutFile ("999.999.9.9", "username","password","\\\\servername\\subfolder\\subfolder\\APPLIC*.*","APPLIC.TXT")

I can connect OK using FTP to the server in question via ms-dos.

Error 123 ussualy indicates invalid file name or insufficient permissions

Most likely something is wrong with \\\\servername\\subfolder\\subfolder\\APPLIC*.* file name. I guess you don't have asterics there, you just put replaced it for the message. If not, replace APPLIC*.* with APPLIC.TXT.

Tip: To verify the path create a temp job using one of FTP download templates and use the built-in FTP exlorer tool to navigate to the correct file and paste its name.

I thought you can use wildcards ?
Also the path - do you mean the path on the server I am uploading the file to or the path the local file is on ?
I have manually uploaded the file ok using the same syntax via a dos window.

that's odd, when i use a file upload with wildcards template and
try to browse the path on the remote server as you suggest I get an FTP Browse dialog box:
"Could not connect to server 999.999.9.9 Service not Available. Extended error code 4.

does it have to be some special kind of ftp server for all this to work or something ?

Try using server name instead of IP address. Also please check with your sysadmin if it uses non-default FTP port. If it is you should call FTPConfig with the "PORT" option before using other FTP commands .
