No Folders/Jobs When Remote Control Started |
|
When I first start Remote Control, I never see Folders or Jobs. When I click "Save Remote", then close and restart Remote Control, the Folders and Jobs become visible. Am I not configured quite right?

Are you connecting to 24x7 Scheduler running in a server mode or to 24x7 Remote Agent? : Addendum- : It's after I first start Remote Control, after the Remote Agent has been : restarted, that the describe problem exists.

: Are you connecting to 24x7 Scheduler running in a server mode or to 24x7 : Remote Agent? I'm connecting to a Remote Agent running on the same server as Scheduler, which I have running as a service.

Don't run them on the same machine you are killing it. 24x7 Scheduler can do everything the agent can do even when it runs as a service. What you really need to do is to enable server mode in the scheduler. Start the scheduler interactive, click Tools/Options menu then click Network tab page and then check "Distributed Server Mode Enabled" option. Restart the scheduler as a service or as a standalone server program. : I'm connecting to a Remote Agent running on the same server as Scheduler, : which I have running as a service.

I was attempting to follow the instructions in http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/archive/agent.htm. I already have "Distributed Server Mode" enabled. How is Remote Console supposed to communicate with the remote Scheduler, if there's no Remote Agent?

How is Remote Console : supposed to communicate with the remote Scheduler, if there's no Remote : Agent? Got rid of the Remote Agent, on the Scheduler's server. Although I did loose all of the folders and jobs (1 folder, 3 jobs) that I had defined, things do seem better. Thanks for the help! Pat

Just to clarify the issue. 24x7 Remote Agent is a run-time mode in which 24x7 Scheduler is running with the scheduling engine turned off and networked components turned on. : I was attempting to follow the instructions in : http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/archive/agent.htm . I already have : "Distributed Server Mode" enabled. How is Remote Console : supposed to communicate with the remote Scheduler, if there's no Remote : Agent?
