Post remotecopysettings doesn't seem to work Reply with quote

Hi,
I want to copy over my database profiles from the master scheduler to 2 remote agent servers

so i create a job on the master scheduler which does:

remotecopysettings ("PROCESS1", "DB_PROFILES")
remotecopysettings ("PROCESS2", "DB_PROFILES")

where PROCESS1 and PROCESS2 are the remote servers.
But it doesn't work - there are no database profiles copied over.

Please check the log file on both computers for additional error messages.

the job doesn't run on the remote servers - i run it on the master. so there is no entry on the remote servers for this job.

If an error occurs on the remote side an error message could be written to the remote agent (or remote master scheduler log.

Are you saying that the job runs successfully, but yet not database profiles are created on the remote?
Are you specifying correct profile names?

yes the job seems to run OK but no profiles get created from the master onto the remote agents.
my exact syntax is:
remotecopysettings ("PROCESS1", "DB_PROFILES")
remotecopysettings ("PROCESS2", "DB_PROFILES")

PROCESS1 and PROCESS2 are the name of the remote agents
I am not sure what you mean by specifying correct profile names
are you indicating instead of typing "DB_PROFILES", i put the actual database name in like "MY PRODUCTION DATABASE"
(ie how it appears in the database profiles section).
I thought that it copied over all profiles by using "DB_PROFILES" and you don't have to do it one by one ?

It is "DB PROFILES" without underscore, not "DB_PROFILES"

Hope this helps.
