Post Starting Remote Control Reply with quote

Hi,

how do i start up Remote Hosts. I've opened the remote control box, but when i try connect to a remote host, it wont let me.
What are the steps on getting the remote host working?
Im trying to run the sample asp application that looks at job lists and status reports but i get this error:
"Error: 24x7 Remote Control interface is not initialized"

Thanks,

Tim

First make sure 24x7 software is installed and running on these remote computers. Either run it in the Remote Agent mode using Remote Agent icon (see 24x7 Remote Agents Overview topic in the help for more info) or run it in the Master Scheduler mode (see Master/Standby topic for more).

It also a good idea to read 24x7 Remote Control Overview topic.

Ok, i managed to get the remote host set up now.. and it connects properly,
but now i get this error:

"Syncronisation with remote 24x7 scheduler failed! Remote Control Interface not available"

what does this mean?

Tim.

Do you run the same version on the remote?

Do you get this error when the remote is run as a Master scheduler (e.g. the "distributed server" option is enabled in the Tools/Options/Network)?

2 more questions...
Is this a web application demo created for 24x7 version 2?
Do you have a site license?

The web application demo came with the 24x7 software.

run 24x7 off the remote server and my local machine?

Thanks for all your help

I am still not sure which version that is. I believe the error is caused because you are trying non-matching versions of the scheduler and the web interface. Anyway, please email to support@softtreetech.com and request version 3 of the web interface (please mention whether you need ASP or JSP variant).
