Post Error with WebGetPageHTML Reply with quote

Greetings,
I have a very simple job set up using WebGetPageHTML that just hits the local webserver. But I'm getting the following error: "Error connecting to Internet or invalid URL". However, when I cut and paste the URL into a browser on the same machine it has no problems. What is causing this error? I know it's not something as simple as a typo because it works perfectly fine in a browser. How does 24x7 treat it differently?

The script is as follows: "WebGetPageHTML("http://192.168.118.10/directory/webpage.cfm";, "c:\progra~1\24x7au~1\activi~1\webpage.html")"
The returned error code: -1.

Thanks,
Ryan

Do you use proxy server for Internet connections.
Which web browser do you use?

No proxy server. We use Internet Explorer 6.
The strange thing is that if I setup two identical jobs (one going to x.y.z.10 and one going to x.y.z.11) only the .10 will fail. Yet, the two webserver are identical in every way.

Is there any page redirection? Does WebGetFile work for both x.y.z.11 and x.y.z.10?

SysOp,
WebGetFile did the trick. What is the difference between WebGetFile and WebGetPageHTML?
I remember back in July I was having a problem that when I would use WebGetFile it would hit the html page twice and you instructed me to use WebGetPageHTML (see thread "WebGetFile task hitting pages twice..."). How do I know what is the correct situation for one and not the other?
Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
Ryan

WebGetPageHTML uses simplified version of HTTP protocol for file processing and does not support proxy servers. Something is stil ldifferent on your webserevers that makes WebGetPageHTML not to accept responses from one of your Domino servers.
WebGetFile internally uses the same code that is used by Internet Explorer and Windows and it does support proxies.

I don't know if the issue with hitting pages twice has been resolved. I don't have a good place to test it right now. If you have such place please try it and let us know.

I changed over some of my jobs to WebGetFile and it seems to only hit once. Not a real thorough test, but good results nonetheless.
Thanks for your help.
