Post Run Now Button Option Unavailable Reply with quote

I running 24x7 V 2.4.1 installed as a service using a local service account.
I have a job that is run occasionally and set to "no schedule". To run, the
users use the "run now" button to run it. On one of our servers the "Run Now"
button ( and RUNNOW on the Right click flyover menu ) becomes unselectable.
Why can I do to allow it to be selectable.

Only one instance of 24x7 can run jobs (only one instance can behave as a job server). If you have 24x7 service running in the background, you can run the 24x7 GUI and use the Run Now option.

By the way, I recommend you to upgrade to a more recent version such as 2.4.15. This upgrade is free and includes several important bug fixes
(not related to Run Now). The upgrade can be downloaded at http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/downloads.htm

You did not really answer my question. you just told me I 'can do" it.
Right now I CAN NOT do the run now from the 24x7 GUI because the "RUN NOW' button is unselectable for the job. MY Question is HOW do i make the RUN NOW buttom selectable when it is not currently selectable for a job????

I though I answered it. Run Now is disabled because you cannot run a job in this instance. You are having another 24x7 instance running in the background as a service.

If you are interested in running it NOW, you have 3 options:
1. Stop the service instance before running the GUI instance.

or

2. Run the service in the Master Scheduler mode and use 24x7 Remote Control to connect to the Master and run the job (just like you use your database programs to run things on the database server).

or

3. Run the job from DOS command line as

24x7.exe /JOB [desired job id here]
