Post Remote Agents Reply with quote

I am trying to set up a remote agent using 3.1.0, but when I start the remote agent I get the following dialogue box:

Sorry, your license does not include 24x7 Remote Agents, Please contact SoftTree Technologies to upgrade your license.

I wasn't aware that this was neccessary. I recall setting up a remote agent when trialling 3.0.1. What do I need to do?

Thanks
Greig

Every 24x7 installation is covered by a separated license, no matter in which mode you run the software. So in order to use 24x7 on 2 computers (for example, for 1 master and 1 agent) you would need 2 licenses with 2 different serial numbers.

The trial version doesn't check the license in order to allow the trial process

I do have a separate serial number for both. This is why I am surprised by the message I am getting. I am able to use the remote in 'normal' mode. I get the message when I try and use it in Agent mode.

Please check that used different serial numbers for different installations. You can check it in the Help/About menu. If by mistake you used the same number, the most simple way to correct it is to change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\Serial" key in the registry

YES, they are using different serial numbers. BTW, the two machines do not even 'know' about each other yet. The Remote Agent profile on the master has not been set up yet.

Some further information: both machines were initially 3.0.1, upgraded to 3.1.0

Ah... I see... you get this message when starting the agent, not when connecting to it. Well, it looks like the registry is missing some important information.
Try reinstalling the software. If you have an older version 2 or even 1, please uninstall it first. Make sure that "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\3.0\Type" key is set to "24x7 PRO"

The Type value was missing from the Registry. Adding the value and setting it to "24x7 PRO" has fixed the problem.

Thank you for your help.
