Build 10.1.264 is now available for download. This is a very significant maintenance release with new major features and enhancements.

Here is a list of new features and changes:
1. Separation of MySQL and MariaDB interfaces. MariaDB is now a separate database interface supporting new connection options and new features specific to MariaDB.
2. Visual database and schema management is now implemented for Redshift, Greenplum, MariaDB. Significantly extended support for DB2 and MySQL visual schema management.
3. New SQL Preprocessor feature.
4. New SQL References for MySQL 8.0 and MariaDB 10.0.
5. DB Explorer now supports even greater number of schema object types and their features.
6. Enhanced support for PostgreSQL 11, stored procedures, new table options, etc…
7. A number of minor SQL Intellisense usability enhancements.
8. Multifaceted support for partitioned and external tables across all database interfaces.
9. Data Compare – new ways of saving data comparison results to CSV files, copying samples of different data.
10. Enhanced schema compare features for DB2, Redshift, PostgreSQL, Greenplum, MySQL, and MariaDB.
11. New .NET based plugins. Several examples are prepackaged with 10,1, including NS Lookup for IP addresses in data, and others.
12. Customizable data display formats can now be applied to copied and exported data.
13. The DDL Preview pane now enables using the Code Format command to reformat the displayed code for improved readability.
14. Enhancements in SQL Editor for more customizations including custom hot keys for code folding. And others.
15. Data export and data scripting can be scheduled now for unattended runs..
16. Code Generator now supports all types of database objects and can be used to automate repetitive operations for a greater set of tasks.
17. Visual management and monitoring of SQL Server Service Broker.
18. Lots of other minor changes and enhancements.

Does the preprocessor feature work with snippets? That would be awesome.

I'm afraid I don't understand how that can be mixed together. Would you please submit some example as a separate topic?

In general, the preprocessor massages the text before everything else is done, replacing variables and certain types of expressions, or at least that's how I expect it to behave by definition.
Just in case, you can define both local variables in scripts directly using #define directives, and global reusable variables saved permanently. For the later you would need to open the preprocessor pane (you can find it the Command Selector) and add global vars there.
