Post Schema comparison - Ignore Reply with quote
There's an item in Ignore section for schema comparison called Delimiters

What is that and how is it supposed to work? My assumption was that it should ignore differences for scripts that refer to objects with the same name but using or not using delimiters like dbo.whatever vs. [dbo].[whatever] but it doesn't seem to do that. Comparison still yields codes marking such as these as (the only) differences.

I'm not clear on that too. I asked for help and will respond to your question as soon as I get an answer.

It should treat dbo.whatever and [dbo].[whatever] as equal if Ignore -> Delimiters is ticket. what's not clear yet, if that's supposed to work like that for object names in definitions only or referenced within procedural code too.

Here is what I mean
declaration:
Code:
CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.whatever ...

vs.
Code:
CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[whatever]

procedural code:
Code:
...
BEGIN
   SELECT * FROM dbo.whatever
END

vs.
Code:
...
BEGIN
   SELECT * FROM [dbo].[whatever]
END

I'm still trying to get more details on that.
