There seems to be a difference between SSMS and SQL Editor in the way the save dialog works on closing the editor.

In SSMS I get the "do you want to save changes" dialog, and I can check the queries I want to save and hit yes and everything closes out.

In SQL Editor if I do that it asks me where to store the file and what to name it.

Usually these sort of queries I'm writing ad-hoc I don't mind keeping in the document manager to pull up later (or via the "Open Previously Used Tabs") dialog when the editor is re-opened but have no desire to save them to a specific name/directory on disk.

Why does SQL Editor differ in that behavior from SSMS? I'm not saving explicitly with SSMS either.

As far as I can tell both editors match in the SQL Assistant config for "Document Manager" options.

You don't have to specify file names, it will still keep them in the History folder for a year. Simply click No button. You can find them later by contents, as well as reopen automatically if you restart the editor. This simply allows you to choose meaningful names instead of numerical system generated.

Right but coming from SSMS it never promps me for a save name if I say yes. It's just slightly different and I'm used to the SSMS way but like the tighter integration of the sql editor and sql assistant so I keep trying to get used to it
