Post Logon.exe doesn't unlock a computer with Legal Notice Text Reply with quote
I am using the Logon.exe utility from http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/archive/51.htm

Windows XP Logon Process

1. Send Ctrl + Alt + Del
2. Click OK on the Legal Notice Text (Is there a way to handle this)
3. Enter user name
4. Enter password
5. Select Domain (This is handled with this syntax Logon -u "Domain\User" -p "password")
5. Click on OK

The script works only when the XP machine is in the Username Password Window.

I tried running back to back Logon, but doesn't work either.
First Logon - ends up in a Logon Message error with a OK button that needs to be clicked.

Any help in this regard is much appreciated.

Sorry, I'm unclear what you're asking ... are you wanting something to deal with the need to click an OK when the legal notice is presented prior to the login dialog itself, or is there an issue when you hit the login dialog as well?

I don't believe it'll handle the legal notice in the process.

Yes, I am looking for some Utility that can send an Enter key so that I can use it along with Logon Utlity to handle the Legal Notice at Logon.

Logon (Logon utlity not handling Legal Notice, throws a Logon Error message)
Send Enter Key or Click on OK (To Click on OK on the Logon error message, Logon Window would be in the Username/Password Page)
Logon - would work

Our logon utility won't do this. I don't know of one offhand that would.

The issue you are actually having is the remote machine/VM session is NOT handing over control back to the console of the remote machine/vm. The following shortcut (depending on your OS version) actually hands control over the the remote machine\VM conosle:

b. For Windows XP hosts, enter the following:
i. %windir%\System32\tscon.exe 0 /dest:console
c. For Windows 7/Vista hosts, enter the following:
i. %windir%\System32\tscon.exe %sessionname% /dest:console

To clarity, you are NOT to disconnect from the remote machine/VM but to have one of the above commands execute (ex. shortcut on the desktop) which hands control over the console and disconnects your remote session. Then you will find the process of autologin will work as expected.
