Post SQL Assistant executing script Reply with quote
When creating a server side trace - SQL Assistant will try to execute the code. This has caused multiple traces to be started/created that I need to stop. The only way I have found to stop this is to suspend SQL Assistant.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Using version: 4.8.29

Thanks,

Jeff

This is caused by SQL Server bug. SQL Assistant performs syntax checking of your code in the background in NOEXEC ON mode, yet the server still executes that code.

One way to deal with that is disabling SQL Assistant's real-time background syntax checker feature.
