Post Feature: Persistent Bookmarks Reply with quote
It would be useful if those bookmarks that are untouched by code reformatting were left in place. It's cumbersome to replace them in a stored procedure with hundreds or thousands of lines after every formatting when I format only the last few lines.

Hi,

Are you referring to SQL Assistant's visual bookmarks feature or something else? Can you attach a screenshot demonstrating that issue?

Thank you

Yes, I'm referring to the visual bookmarks. No need for screenshots, it's not an issue, it's just the way how it works. When you have bookmarks set in the editor formatting the code warns you that "Code formatting will remove currently set bookmarks." which is reasonable because the result can be totally different after formatting. But when you format only a part of the text, there's no reason to remove bookmarks that precede the text to be formatted because that part of the content does not change. Bookmarks that come after the selected text could also stay. Well, not on the same row in the text they were but they could be moved, according to "expansion/contraction" of the formatted result.

Thank you. That explains it.

I'm going to send a request to check what can be done if anything to preserve the existing bookmarks not affected by the formatting.
