Post fail-over techniques Reply with quote

I have 2 questions
1) can I have 2 machines running, each one having a master and a slave.
I want to be able to run some jobs one one machine and some jobs on another
machine, and if either fail I want to run all of them on the running machine
or can I specify job x runs on master and job y runs on slave

2) I am having trouble setting up the master/slave. I read chapter 6 but am not clear
on how I specify who is the slave. is there another document
that goes in more detail?

1) You cannot do that. Standby is always running in passive passive mode until it takes over and you cannot have both Master and Standby running on the same machine.

2) An example for how to confugure Master/Standby with screenshots is available at http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/archive/37.htm
