Post Customize Reports Reply with quote

Are there any methods to get additional reports or customizable reports from 24x7? I am wanting a summary report with different grouping than the Job Summary report. Do I have the ability to connect to a backup of the database through ODBC?

I just want to see if there are any options to get these reprots.

Thanks.

24x7 jobs are not saved in a relational database as you may think. They are saved in a compressed and encrypted file which is mot accesible through ODBC. However you can use Tools/Export Job Database option to unload job database into a relational database of your choice and then create your custom reports. For example you can use Oracle, MS Access of MS SQL for this purpose.

Thanks, I actually forgot about that. Is it possible to schedule the unload?

No, this cannot be done.

If you need to run this periodically consider creating a script type job that builds this report as a text or HTML file using available script functions for listing folders, jobs and obtaining job properties. You can also write a script or program calling 24x7 API for reading jobs and job properties. You can even do that using a VBScript job inside 24x7.
