Post job replication question Reply with quote

I have jobs in a folder on the master server and want to replicate all those jobs to all the other remote master servers. How do I keep the jobs on the master server from executing, while having the jobs execute on the remote master servers?

Thanks,

Mike Niccum

There are many ways how you can that. I think the most simple is to keep them disabled. and enable them after the replication using RemoteJobEnable.

Another eazy method is good for script type jobs only. In the beginning of every job script insert the following:

// JAL script jobs
Dim job_processor, boolean
NotEqual "@V"computer"", "...put master computer name here...", job_processor
IfThen job_processor, DO_IT
Exit
DO_IT:

' VBScript jobs
Sub Main()
If "@V"computer"" "...put master computer name here..." Then return
....

This way the rest of the script will run only if it is not being executed on the specified master.
