Is it possible to control a service running on another NT server within the same domain? I'd like to use stop and start service script commands and control our SQL Server service from our 24x7 scheduling machine.

It is possible if you install 24x7 Remote Agent on that machine.

Also note that you will need to stop and start SQL Server services in the right sequence based on the service dependencies

I believe it's possible through the resource kit utilitity "netsvc". I'm currently working on the syntax to use that properly using the run command in an array. Email me directly and I'd be glad to work with you on it.
