"example jobs.dat" date is 4/10/2000 -- this means that the file was replaced with an older copy. The file date should be at least 5/19/2000 - the last time you saved your changes. Did you install a upgrade after that? Do you have a backup of this file? In general, please don't use the "example jobs" for your production jobs as it can be overwritten by the feature versions of the 24x7. Migrate all your real jobs to a different job database (see "File/New/Job Database" and Tools/Database Manager") : The dozen jobs that I had created (all just sql commands to an oracle : database (which is on a server reached via odbc via a LAN), updates, etc) : were created in the "dynamic jobs" folder that comes with the : application, the other 8 example folders I have not touched. These jobs : have been running for over 2 weeks with out fail, most of them 3 or 4 : times a day. The last entry in the schedule.log file was a correct : finishing of a job at 7 pm last night. This machine also has a password : protected screen saver and is in front of a security camera, so I have : verified that no one deleted these jobs. What I can surmise is that most : likely maybe the server went down or any part of the lan connection that : is used to connect to it. The PC itself did not indicate any errors on the : screen, just the "24x7" icon was missing from the task bar. Upon : restarting 24x7 (24x7.exe) the application (jobs,) when launched appeared : exactly as it did when I first received it, just the examples. The only : files in the 24X7 folder that had a newer date were; schedule.log (todays : date) , 24x7.gid (date = 5/19/2000, about time that I created all of the : jobs), and 24x7.fts, (date also 5/19/2000). The only .DAT file that exists : "example jobs.dat" date is 4/10/2000 which is the same date it : was when I loaded the appliation about 3 weeks ago. If this is the .dat : file that is used when launching 24x7, it does not appear to save any of : the jobs that I create when the application is halted. What am I doing : wrong? Thanks for your fast response to my earlier request, : dan
