Post DB Audit and Sybase Any 7.0.4 Connectivity Reply with quote

Hi Support,

I am having trouble getting DB Audit to connect to a Sybase Any 7.0.4
database. What I find is if I use the ODBC connection option I get
none of the odbc connections displayed that I have created.

If I use the inbuilt SYC Sybase ASE driver and it fails to connect
stating that a library file is missing libct.dll. Even though I have
installed the Sybase client.

Further to this I am running this on a Windows 2000 server with
Service Pack 3 installed using Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe 1.8
Service Pack 4.
Any hints would be great.

Thanks
Lachlan Cook

If you would like to use ODBC for the connection please ensure the ODBC profile is created as a system DSN and not as a file DSN.
If the profile name is not displayed in the drop-down list you can still type it in

If you would like to use native driver connection please ensure Sybase client is listed in the system search path (Both Open Client DLL and BIN subdirectories must be added to the PATH environment variable).
Also check the required SYBASE environment variable is set correctly (if not set the SYBASE environment variable to the full path of the Open Client directory).

Additional info, correct me if I'm wrong, many problem can be caused by the Terminal Server. If you install/configure any software while you are running a terminal session all settings (environment, registry, ini files, etc…) might be gone as soon as your session is closed. That's the nature of the Terminal Server. It is recommended that you install all software locally on the server and use terminal services to run already installed and configured software packages.
