hello iám only a beginner dba
my task was it to implement a mailfunction so i download dbmail
i need some time to configure it but now it works
there are some things i don´t understand
i installed it here on my workstation nt4 (where oracle9i client is installed)
run the sscripts o the oracleserver to install the send_mail function
what´s the queue good for?????
should i even install dbmail on the oracle server too?
and outlook has problems with the email-format... yeah but they are readable ...

If your server is NT based you better install DB Mail on the server and uninstall it from your PC.
As for the email format try using a different encoding method which you can change in the DB Mail options.

The mail queue is used purely for performance reasons. It allows your Oracle processes to faster send messages without waiting for them to be actually transmitted.
