Post Pinpointing Processes... Reply with quote

Hi,
I'm evaluating the DB Monitor Expert and would like to know the fastest and most accurate method of identifying the user placing the heaviest load on my CPU (HP-UX).

I've used the "Top 10 Most Active Users" monitor and tried the Custome Graph for the "Top 10 Users by CPU Usage", I could not get the desired results from the later. Is there someway I can disply the heaviest hitters along with both their Oracle and Unix session IDs?

All comments welcome,
Tom.

In order to provide an answer to your questions we need to know what is your criteria for "heaviest load"

For example: buffer gets; session memory allocation; number of I/O; session CPU usage; network traffic caused by transferred data; number of transactions, rollback segment usage, connection frequency, and so one...

Thanks for the response.
My ideal criteria would be session CPU usage (realtime).
Tom.

You can use "Top 10 users by CPU usage" prebuilt custom graph avaialbe as part of the DB Monitor Prerformance Library.

In order to use that graph, you must have Oracle TIMED_STATISTICS enabled. If you don't, enable it in the Oracle instance settings and restart the instance.
