This message indicates that it cannot read from the specified registry key. A key in system registry is like a folder in the file system. My guess is that most likely you setup DB Mail to run as a service using some non-admin account and that account has insuficient permissions for reading from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE part of the registry. : HI
