Is there a way for me to schedule a job to collect table growth information (like used space, free space etc.). If so how can I do that using the tool?

Thanks

That is what the DB Trends package is for. Use the included Database Setup utility to setup and schedule that package.

I have already setup Soft Tree for an existing database. I am trying to use Job Expert to setup a job to collect table growth information. My questions are as follows:

1. How can I only collect table growth and index growth information. I am not interested in getting information about tablespace or rollback segments.

2. I try to start the DB Trends job from the Job Expert Tool and get the following error message:

Ora -23421 job number 1 is not job queue

ora 6512 at sys.dbms_sys_error line 86

The reason for the erorr is that you are not running it as ORA_MONITOR user who owns the job.

To configure what data DB Trends collects on every run start DB Monitor Expert, click Trends/Configure menu and include/explude objects and spaces that you want to monitor.

Did you mean that I log into the Job Expert tool using Ora_monitor user id?

If so what is the default password for ora_monitor?

Yes, to run ORA_MONITOR's jobs you must logon as ORA_MONITOR, to run SCOTT's jobs you must logon as SCOTT.

The defualt password for ORA_MONITOR can be found in the help file, I don't want to post it here.
See "DB Trends - Installation/Uninstallation" topic for details.
