Have you compiled the target code (function, stor. proc., package, trigger) for debugging? Have you enclosed SQL in the PL/SQL Editor (DBA Notepad) in BEGIN ... END as a valid PL/SQL block that can be used to start the debugging? For example: BEGIN SELECT my_function(arg1, arg2) FROM dual; END; ---------------------------------------- my_function() should be compiled for debugging. You can use the Database Navigator to compile desired objects. Select an object in the Database Navigator then choose "File/Debug/Compile for Debugging" menu or simply press ALT+F5 : dear prof. : i got a trial version of the dbtools (last release) : i run oracle 8i version 8.1.6 with PL version 8.1.6 : when i press file/degug/start to debug my procedure : the program does not response in the stage of synchronizing with session : thanks for help
