Post All Day but just weekdays Reply with quote
Hello.
I would like to schedule a job to run every 10 minutes, between 6am and 4pm, every Monday thru Friday.
The only way I can see to accomplish this is to enter 66 different times in the "Daily or Weekly" schedule.
The "All Day" option doesn't cover this either.
This is done so easily in CRON, I must be missing something!!

Thanks!

I would recommend using daily schedule, set the job to run with 10 minutes interval, and choose 6am and 4pm daily start and end times. Now here is the interesting part. Create new exclusive calendar in 24x7 that excludes all Saturdays and Sundays. Assign the job to that calendar. That's how you can limit the job to weekdays only.

Tip: you can easily generate "exclusive" calendar days in Excel and save them to a tab separated file, then import them into the new calendar in 24x7. This way you avoid keying all days by hand

Ok, I follow you, I can do that.
One more question. Let's say I set the start day and time as tomorrow at 6am. I set the end time as 4pm. Should I leave the end date as tomorrow?? Will it still run everyday from here on out (as far as I go out with the calendar at least)?
I'm guessing if I specify a date later than the start date, it will run round the clock....
Many thanks!!

I think you are using wrong properties to set start/end times. There is "Advanced..." button on the same line as "Repeat every"property. Please use that button.

I went into Excel and created a few years worth of dates for the calendar. It will not import it, says it has no dates or invalid format.
Original file was like this:
09/01/11
09/02/11
so I changed it to
09/01/2011
09/02/2011
and also tried
09/01/2011 <tab> Thursday
09/02/2011 <tab> Friday

Can you spot my error?

Here's an extract of a calendar I created to run jobs on the first working day of a week:
Code:

 3-Oct-2011 00:00:00   Monday
10-Oct-2011 00:00:00   Monday
17-Oct-2011 00:00:00   Monday
25-Oct-2011 00:00:00   Workday after Labour Day
31-Oct-2011 00:00:00   Monday
 7-Nov-2011 00:00:00   Monday
14-Nov-2011 00:00:00   Monday
21-Nov-2011 00:00:00   Monday
28-Nov-2011 00:00:00   Monday
 5-Dec-2011 00:00:00   Monday
12-Dec-2011 00:00:00   Monday
19-Dec-2011 00:00:00   Monday
28-Dec-2011 00:00:00   Workday after Christmas Day Observed

Note there's a space before some of the day numbers, and a tab between the date and description.
