I'm afraid this goes beyond my knowledge. It looks like Reflection/X is not rendering some fonts correctly. Do you have eXceed or some other alternative solution for working with remote X-windows GUI?

Out of curiosity, why are you doing that remotely? Wouldn't it be just easier to do it directly on the server, or alternatively, do setup jobs locally and then just deploy the job database file?

I am not so familiar with Unix (Solaris) how can I do it directly on the server?
So you mean I can install 24x7 scheduler on my windows workstation and manage the job on servers from there?
I am confuse... please could you help or just point me in any documentation so I can understand more?
Thanks.

Solaris has its own rich GUI interface just like Windows or Mac do. It is not really required to use remote X-Windows clients like Reflection/X (think of that as a terminal server client).

What I meant is that you can install 24x7 on your Windows system, setup options and jobs as needed and copy the resulting job database file (and preferences) from your Windows system to the server. This is not a remote job management. It is a way to develop and deploy jobs. 24x7 should not be run on the server in GUI mode, it should be run as a service or background daemon process. In any case using remote GUI is a not a very good idea, you don't want server-type applications like 24x7 running on the server in GUI mode.

24x7 also supports web-based console which should be used for managing jobs remotely. The web console can connect to all types of 24x7 servers whether they are run as services, daemons, or GUI applications. The web console is only available to licensed users who licensed that option, but you can learn more here http://www.softtreetech.com/24x7/24x7web_gui.pdf

If I understand well from my 24x7 on my windows desktop I am creating the jobs and then copy the job database to UNIX server 24x7 folder?
but I tought that will be easier to devlop my job on my UNIX server direcly else path need to be change and I cannot test them on windows direclty. Am I right?

In my case I would prefer to run 24x7 on the server in back ground and use the web console to create and manage my job... this make sence? how much cost the web console?

Thanks.

Web console is included with the site license.

For the fonts issue, I think I've located some relevant document http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/guide/intl/fontconfig.html talking about font mapping issues. Please check if you got JavaHome/lib/fontconfig files and if yes, what you got there.
