Upgrades 3.6.2 - 3.6.5 released for 24x7 Scheduler - Windows |
|
Ladies and Gentlemen,
24x7 Scheduler Windows Edition v3.6.5 and 24x7 Scheduler Multi-platform Edition have been released nearly simultaneously. Here are the brief notes from the release announcement
Changes in 24x7 Scheduler Windows Edition v3.6.2 - v3.6.5
1. Enhanced job queue control with automatic near-capacity and over-capacity alerts.
2. Job Automation Language engine (JAL) now uses disk-based cache for storing global variables. There are several implications: values of global variables can be optionally saved between scheduler restarts; global variables are available to detached jobs and to standalone JAL scripts.
3. Macro-parameters with "local" values originated in the scheduling engine are now available to detached jobs - this affects all file-watch and email-watch jobs, which previously were unable to use EVENT specific macro-parameters in detached run-time mode.
4. New macro-parameters for email watch jobs: "x-message" and "datereceived"
5. New extensions for the Job Automation Language for automating various types of web operations, including programmatic and scheduled web form submissions, site logins and automation, web page monitoring, file downloads, and so on.
6. New Web Automation Wizard for quick building of web automation jobs.
7. Enhanced job debugging and crash recovery interfaces using Win32 Structured Exception Handling (SEH) hooks.
8. Improvements in the scheduler graphical interface - support for bulk job disable/enable operations at the job folder level; 2-click job duplication; and more...
9. Updated and expanded COM and Java APIs now supporting all latest features.
10. Fixes for known bugs.
24x7 Web-based Management Consoles have been updated too.
1. Both ASP version for Microsoft IIS we servers and JSP versions for Apache and compatible web servers have been updated to support the latest features
2. Several compatibility fixes made in each console version to support cross-scheduler and cross-platform operations
Just in case, here is a reference to the topic describing changes in the prior version

Hi, where can I find more information on items 4 (x-message) and 8 (graphic improvements) please? The PDF manual doesn't seem to have been updated?

I think you are running the Multiplatform Edition, notes are here http://www.softtreetech.com/support/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22962
This topic is for the Windows Edition
Just in case,
4. @V"x-message" is the same as @V"message" except that it strips end of line characters and removes quotes, which allows embedding this macro into various scripts, multi-line message values don't break script syntax
8. in that version going from script editor to debugger and from debugger to editor can be done in one click, that's the main thing, other improvements are icon changes, navigation menus that make the interface appear more consistent with MP Edition

Thanks. You're right, I posted this in the wrong topic. @V"x-message" sounds useful but I'd like to request a @V"x-subject" too please. This obviously wouldn't need to remove line breaks, just quotes.
Cheers

As per your asking I submitted a new enhancement request for x-subject macro. For references: request tracking number 24x7-0007358. I guess this should be an easy thing to implement and there is a very good change it will make it into the next maintenance release.
