Post Problem with Column Completion Reply with quote
Hi,

i have a problem with the column completion with the following statement.

Code:
SELECT  t.*
  FROM  PAS_DSL_ABGLEICH.DSL_BANDBREITEN_MESSUNG t
WHERE dslbm_

When I position the cursor behind the "dslbm_" and then press <Ctrl>-<Blank> the correct list of columns is shown.

Part of the column list is:
Code:
DSLBM_ID,
DSLBM_LSZ,
DSLBM_ARACCOUNT,
DSLBM_NENAME,
DSLBM_DROPID,
DSLBM_XML_ROOTELELENT,
DSLBM_STATUS,
DSLBM_RESULT,
DSLBM_RESULTCOMMENT,
DSLBM_ERRORINFO,
DSLBM_ENDTIME,
DSLBM_BITRATEUP,
DSLBM_BITRATEDOWN,
DSLBM_SNRUP,
DSLBM_SNRDOWN,
DSLBM_ATTENUATIONUP

Now I would await when I press "x" the column will be filtered, but sadly in this moment all synonyms starting with "x" will be shown.

When I press <Ctrl>-<Blank> behind the word "WHERE" and then enter "dslbm_x" the column is filtered correct.

Any ideas?

Kind regards
Jens

P.S: Based on Oracle10

This could be considered as a deficiency in the current design. In case Ctrl+Space invoked after entered text prefix, typing the remaining text doesn't filter the displayed items, it filters the complete list as if you started typing from the beginning of the item text. The solution is quite simple, not to type dslbm_ then show column list, instead use the column list displayed immediately after typing the WHERE keyword, or if you need to force it, after Ctrl+Space invoked after the WHERE keyword

Hi,

please see this as a feature request for upcoming releases.

Sometimes it could necesarry to start in the middle of the word.

For example:
I have selected "DSLBM_ID". Now this was a mistake, and I want to select on other column. It would be cool to delete "ID" and then press <Ctrl>-<Space>. Then i see all other columns.

Kind regards
Jens
