Setup:
While editing a script in Visual Studio 2008 or in Query Analizer, highlight a table name, right-click on the SQL Assistant icon in the System Tray, select Target then Show Table Data.

Expected results:
A grid with table data should be displayed

Actual results:
The following error message is received:
The request for procedure '<table>' failed because '<table>' is a table object

If the Show Table Data function is invoked via Ctrl-Mouse Click, it seems to work correctly.

In SQL*Plus, when you highlight a table name then right-click and select Show Table Options, you get the message "Nothing is selected". Ctrl-Mouse Click doesn't do anything, either.

Thanks. I can reproduce the issue with object highlighting and right-click menu, but…. it is not required to highlight anything. Just click on the table name and then use right-click menu ... to show table data (or systray icon) You will see that the result is the same as for Ctrl+Click

In regard to SQL*Plus, it doesn't work the same way there. SQL*Plus is not exactly a text editor. You cannot highlight a piece of text and process it. The black background of the "highlighted" text is not a true text highlighting (like in all other editors, it is some SQL*Plus emulation) and SQL Assistant cannot "see" that kind of highlighting. Again, just as in the previous case, you don't need to highlight anything, just click on the name and then go from there.

Hope this helps.
