Post recursion time may not be earlier than start time? Reply with quote

Hello,

for about a year now, I run a Unix job with a JAL
script and everything was fine. Two weeks ago, I
changed the script a little and now the job's always
disabled with the error message:
Job definition error: recursion time may not be
earlier than start time. Job disabled.

The job runs every weekday at 11:30 pm. Even if I
change the start time to a date in the future, the
same error occurs.

I couldn't find any reference to this error, so I'm
at a loss here.

Thanks,
Alex

There is a property on the "daily" schedule page that says "repeat job" at the following times. For instance, using this property you can setup a job to run every Sunday at 11:30 am and then repeat at 7:30 pm. Obviously the "repeat" time 7:30 PM must be later then 11:30 AM. When you enter invalid time into this property you get the described error. The solution: if you don't need to repeat that Unix job make sure the property is completely blank, there are no other times or spaces entered.

Hi,

In the Job Properties Wizard, I can select Run this
job "Daily or weekly". On the next tab I can enter
only the start date and start time (11:30 am). Also
I can choose which weekdays this job is run (Mon
through Fri) and if I want to skip this job on
holidays.

I'm using version 3.4.18.

Thanks,
Alex

I don't have 3.4.18 installed nearby. In 3.4.24 I have "Re-run this job at the following times" box where I can enter repeat times.

If you want you can upgrade to 3.4.24 (the upgrade is free and takes only a couple of minutes)
If you don't want to upgrade try recreating this job (don't use create from another job option). See if that helps.

I will try the upgrade, then.
