This is caused by difference in default encode methods between 24x7 and your email client software Try changing the encoding method in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SoftTree Technologies, Inc.\24x7 Scheduler\2.0\SMTPFormat The following method are supported in 24x7: "text/plain", "uuencode", "base64" and "mime" Note that the default value is now "mime". It was "none" before. You can also change setup in your email client software to use "HTML" as the default email format, so it will not treat mime messages as email attchments. The difference between 2.4 and prev. version is support for HTML email format. But this is not exposed in this version and will be documented in 2.4.1 or 2.4.2. : Since upgrading to 24x7 v2.4, we now find that jobs set up to send e-mail : notifications are sending these as file attachments instead of in the main : body of the mail. Was this intentional? We are also receiving two : identical attachments from a single job. I seem to remember that this was : a peculiarity of asynchronous jobs which seemed to be fixed in a previous : version, but now seems to be happening regardless. We are using SMTP mail : and 24x7 is on an NT4 SP6a server. : TIA
