24x7 and NT services

Post 24x7 and NT services Reply with quote

When I try to run 24x7 as a NT services, the job does not run. Why?

for example i just create a batch file with this command "DIR >C:\DIR.TXT" and i scheduled it every 1 minute daily job.

Do you run an evaluation version of 24x7?
What NT account do you use to start the service?

Yes i run an evaluation version of 24x7. If there are some limitations for the
evaluation version please send me a list of them at pierre_dupuis@abicon.com.

I use LocalSystem service account.

The only limitation is that every time you start an evalution version (any flavor) you have to confirm that you understand it. Therefore, you should "enable service to interract with desktop" in the service settings (see Control Panel/Services). This is needed in order to click on the Continue button on the Evaluation Reminder screen. Otherwise the service will not completely start.

So if i understand what you mean i need to by a licence to test if it work well.

You need to "enable service to interact with desktop". That's all.

PS. 99% of all trial programs from all vendors feature a reminder screen that requires user manual input on startup.
