Post Saving mail attachments Reply with quote

Hello,

We were not able to save an attached file on a "EMAIL WATCH" job. We expected to
find it in c:\temp as we had ticked the save attachement option.

How can we retrieve this file ?

If you use MAPI, check how your MAPI client saves attachments. The attached files(s) may have temporary names, unless they are saved/opened in other program.

For performance reasons 24x7 Scheduler first reads email headers and bodies of new messages using MAPI "read suppress attachments" method. If "save attachment" option is ticked, 24x7 Scheduler re-reads only job matching messages with attachments using "read entire message" method. While downloading “entire message”, your MAPI client should place message attachments into a temp. directory (specified in the TEMP environment variable). Attached files may have same of temporary names and should stay in the temporary directory until email message is deleted.

We use Nestcape Communicator 4.7 MAPI utility, we did not find where to specify the TEMP location and how to treat attachments.

Any help would be appreciated.

From the Netsacape help:
If you use IMAP mail servers, and you select "View Attachments as Links," all attachments remain on the server until you download or open the attachment click
the link).

However, I was unable to find "View Attachments as Links" option in the Netscape properties. Please contact Netscape support to find out how to change this option.

For the file locations check out the following directories:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\DEFAULT\mail
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\DEFAULT\cache

We still cannot get our 24X7 to react to receiving a mail. We see that 24X7 checks the mail box (checking incoming mail #??) but it does seems to recognize subject matter or text. Could it be that 24X7 does not recognize "French" mail servers

Could you try and send a message to 24X7EMAIL@ext.matif.fr with Subject = TEST

Many thanks !

I just sent it to the requested address.

Also, make sure you dont use the subject alone.
You should use both the subject and message text as a key. One subject is not enough. In the message text make sure you don't have some extra characters invisible on screen but still being part of the text, such as extra spaces, end of lines, tabs, etc...
