For performance reasons the .Log file gets truncated on 24x7 start up only (to avoid rewriting the whole file every time). However, the internal log maintained in memory gets truncated whenever the number of entries exceeds the limit. : Hi, : I have set a maximum no. of job log entries to 3000 in the Options menu, but : I have just noticed that we had 5600 records in schedule.log! I stopped : and restarted 24x7 and this reduced the number to 2999 (we do not have the : 'clear log file at startup' option set), but it seemed to do this by : deleting the most recent entries. looking at schedule.log in a text : editor, the first record is dated 20 April, the 2999th record is 17 April, : and new records are being added from 3000 onwards for 27th April. As new : records are being added, I would expect the total number of records to be : maintained at 3000 by removing the oldest records, but this does not seem : to be happening. Can you explain how the schedule.log is maintained? : We are running 24x7 v2.1.1 on NT Workstation 4.0 SP4. : Many Thanks
